About Daniel Lyons Law Corp

We are a local law practice run by a husband and wife. Our goal is to help navigate through the confusion of the law in British Columbia. We want our office to be a place of comfort, where you can fully open up with your issues so we can serve you better. We are here to listen, serve and help in any way we can.

R. Daniel Lyons, LL.B., LL.M.

In 1999 Daniel started his undergrad studies at the University of Northern British Columbia.  He decided to pursue a career in law during his third year at UNBC. He attended Queens University in Kingston, Ontario, where he obtained his LL.B. in 2005.  He was called to the bar in 2007 in Ontario. He then chose to purse a masters in Tax Law at the University of Toronto. While completing his LL.M., Daniel wrote a thesis that won the Canadian Tax Foundation-Fasken Martineau DuMoulin Award for Ontario for 2007-8.

Daniel worked at CCH Canada Ltd in Toronto as a tax analyst. He then gained experience in immigration law, corporate law, and tax law with boutique law firms in Toronto and Calgary before making his way back to his hometown of Vanderhoof, British Columbia.   He then started his own practice branching out into Family, Criminal and Civil Litigation. In 2015, shortly after getting married, Daniel was given an opportunity to work remotely for a boutique tax law firm located in Toronto, Ontario. After 16 months and some soul searching, Daniel decided that he missed the court room. He missed interacting with clients on a daily basis, and he wanted to feel like he was adding value to his community. Daniel made some changes, however, and no longer practices Criminal Law, but added Real Estate, Wills and Corporate. Daniel has a comforting kindness and truly wants to make a difference for his clients. He is always happy to listen and answer questions when he can.

Carlina Lyons

After being stay at home mom for 20 years, Carlina chose to support her husband in his dream of running a successful, heartfelt law practice. Being a stay at home mom allowed Carlina to volunteer extensively and gain knowledge running associations in not only Northern British Columbia but British Columbia. Gaining knowledge in organization, business, accounting, event planning and working with people when emotions are high, are all skills needed in a law practice.

Carlina has now studied Real Estate and is the conveyancer for the real estate files in our Vanderhoof Office. Keeping the office organized and efficient enables Daniel to better serve clients and her listening ear allows clients to feel comfortable and not like they are just another client.

Daniel and Carlina both feel that law firms should not feel stuffy and stiff. Needing a lawyer is not usually because of something exciting and wonderful, it is generally stressful and heartbreaking. We want clients to feel comfortable as well as knowledgeable about what is happening with their case. We feel that a human touch is important in helping us to serve our clients in the most effective way possible. If we can help you in any way, please feel free to contact us, we are happy to answer questions and give direction, even if that is someone that can serve you better.
